GCSE Religious Studies
COURSE
OUTLINE
This GCSE follows the specification
(syllabus) for AQA RELIGIOUS STUDIES B (3062), and is split into two modules.
The first Module which is “Module 2” of the
specification is all about the Key Beliefs, Ultimate Questions and Life Issues,
which will be discussed in conjunction with two world religions, Christianity
and Hinduism.
The second Module, “Module 4” of the
specification, is Truth, Spirituality and Contemporary Issues, which will cover
issues like abortion, marriage, artificial insemination and euthanasia, again
using the viewpoints of the two world religions Christianity and Hinduism.

EXAM
FORMAT
There will be 2 exams,
UNIT 2 – 1 HOUR
45 MINUTES
UNIT 4 – 1 HOUR
45 MINUTES
They will be in the form of questions,
some with short one word answers and others with longer answers required.
Throughout the course we will be looking
at past exam questions, which will be set as timed questions, or essay
assignments, we will also cover exam techniques. There is no coursework for
this GCSE.

This course will concentrate on the
religious texts of the two world religions: Christianity and Hinduism.
